Creative Oklahoma helps startup entrepreneurs monetize innovative ideas through its Creative Communities program. The organization has helped with marketing efforts and brought in business leaders and experts to help entrepreneurs in communities such as Locust Grove, Altus, Guthrie, Okmulgee and Ponca City.

There’s no cost for the entrepreneurs or mentors. The program is funded by sponsorships and could get more financial support from the first-ever Creative Oklahoma’s Ambassador Spotlight Dinner, featuring Suzy Amis Cameron. The dinner will be held Friday at Urban Farmhouse, 400 S. Western Ave. Tickets are available at stateofcreativity.com.

Amis Cameron will also host a ticketed VIP brunch on Saturday at Commonplace Books and a public book signing from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the same store, 1325 N. Walker Ave.

Amis Cameron, an Oklahoma City native, is the author of the recently-released OMD: The Simple Plant-Based Program to Save Your Health, Save your Waistline, and Save The Planet. She’s also the wife of Titanic director, James Cameron.
