Every time my dad used to visit me, he’d stop at Costco and buy a 12-pack of ribeye steaks on the way. He was worried he would starve at my house eating what he called, “rabbit food.” Yet, undoubtedly, he was surprised by how delicious and fulfilling our family meals were.
“This is really great!” he’d say, over and over again, excitedly eating another bite. The point is — old habits die hard, and old dogs have an even harder time learning new tricks (Sorry, dad!).
On the surface, it can be a simple switch. What’s not always so easy? Getting the dads in our lives on board to make healthier choices. You’re not alone. Whether you’re plant-based — or trying to eat more plants — many of us have experienced our families teasing us for what’s on our plates (or what’s not on them for that matter!) at least once or twice.
